I nurture critical thinkers who can systematically deconstruct complex narratives — combining rigorous linguistic analysis with creative engagement in literature and the arts to equip students to map and interrogate structural power in fiction and reality.
This translates traditional literary study into 21st-century skills: advanced critical thinking, media literacy, and adaptive reasoning.
Current instruction: Arts & Humanities (HEC General Course) — Foundation & Advanced English Integration (Certificate and Diploma courses).
Moves classical literature from static history into active critical space via comparative structural studies — e.g. Pride and Prejudice against Austen’s wider bibliography — and scene-by-scene dissection of film and TV adaptations.
Trains students to apply classical methodologies (e.g. Aristotelian critique) to evaluate a text’s structural integrity using objective criteria.
